| The reduction of pain by stimulating the release of endorphins is a trademark of acupuncture treatments. Acupuncture is highly effective because releasing endorphins lowers the pain responses of the nervous system. As a result, treatments will boost circulation, easing uncomfortable muscle swelling and inflammation. Acupuncture is also successful at treating muscle spasms and relaxing tense muscles. Acupuncture is effective at treating the following conditions involving pain:

"I had an injury with my arm that would cause me pain whenever I played tennis or squash. I tried not playing for a month, stretching, physiotherapy exercises, ice, heat, but it would become aggravated as soon as I resumed playing or when I lifted anything. So after 2 years of living with this pain, where I was limited to playing once a week with pain, my massage therapist at Equilibrium suggested I see Dr. Rebecca for acupuncture. When this was suggested, I didn't think it would work, but was willing to try anything, as I was out of options. Dr. Rebecca has a very thorough professional approach and was confident she could help. Within two treatments I noticed a decrease in both the frequency and the intensity of the pain. By the fourth treatment, I was playing tennis pain free. After 6 treatments, I am playing 2-3 times a week pain free and ready to play more if I wish. As we carry on with maintenance treatments, Dr. Rebecca is still confident we can eliminate the problem for good, but with the current reduction in pain and increased usage I am already very satisfied." --Regards, Ian |
"Before seeing Dr. Rebecca, I had constant lower back and shoulder pain, headaches, sleepless nights and low energy. Since starting my treatments I feel rejuvenated and have had a wonderful pregnancy with no pain or lack of energy that comes with it! My Doctor is even surprised at how great I feel!" --Barbra |
"Between my entire body hurting from Fibromyalgia, exhaustion from Chronic Fatigue, and frequent migraines, my body usually felt horrible, and I was feeling pretty depressed about it. Thankfully, my massage therapist referred me to Dr. Rebecca. Before Dr. Rebecca, I'd have to spend several days a week in bed from my symptoms - I couldn't work at all, and I only had enough energy to run short errands. Since I started seeing Dr. Rebecca, I only have bad symptoms a few days a month! I've improved so much that now I only need to go in for tune-ups, or when I'm having a flare-up. And my energy is so much better that I was able to start grad school! I really recommend Dr. Rebecca to anyone dealing with autoimmune issues. I feel like she gave me my life back." --Jennifer |
"Dr. Rebecca is awesome! She's dedicated to her patients, and I really like her gentle and caring approach (I was so relieved when I found Dr. Rebecca, because my previous acupuncturist only seemed to care about money and pushing unnecessary products when I didn't need them). We've been treating my headaches and immune system, and she's great with suggesting the appropriate herbs/supplements when/if needed. She also pays attention to my eating habits and gives guidance on which foods to eat or avoid depending on my symptoms. Her hours seem to be flexible, and her prices are good. Whether you're new to acupuncture, or you've been treated before, I highly recommend giving Dr. Rebecca a call." --Cynthia |
